Title: Project Officer
Education Development Center, Inc. Health and Human Development Programs in Asia (EDC HHD Asia) is seeking a Project Officer. Under the supervision of Thailand Project Coordinator, the Project Officer supports the Thailand Project Coordinator, Deputy Director and Regional Project Director in the implementation of work in micro-enterprise development, HIV prevention, care and support, business and technology training, business development, and corporate social responsibility. The Project Officer is based in the Bangkok office and will frequently travel to the surrounding Asia region, as requirements demand. As a member of project team, the Project Officer may have occasion to work on other EDC projects not listed here. The Project Officer is also responsible for providing direct supervision to a Project Assist.
Essential functions include [but are not limited to]:
Quality Assurance is responsible for designing and writing test plans, executing test cases, reporting and analyzing test failures and developing software to the testing process and creating the function and performance in software testing on a wide variety of operating systems.
1. HP Micro-Enterprise Development Program in Asia Pacific
-
Management and Coordination: Coordinate with partners in Asia Pacific and other stakeholders to ensure efficient execution of project.

Support EDC team in developing the content for an Annual HP Entrepreneurship Summit, delivering and organizing regional workshops for delegates in Asia Pacific
-
Deliver business/technology trainings to local trainers and micro-enterprises
-
Manage web portal www.mdp-asiapacific.org by updating blogs, e-newsletters, and other content as appropriate

Monitoring and Evaluation: Conduct field visits to partner agencies in Asia Pacific to ensure timely and accurate implementation of program activities in accordance with the contract requirements.

Report Writing: compile information from the partners in Asia Pacific and create bi-annual reports.
2. HIV Care & Support Program in Thailand (Chiang Rai and Nakhon Pathom HIV/AIDS Care and Support for Affected Families)
-
Planning: Assist in design and re-design of project activities as appropriate
-
Management and Coordination: Coordinate with NGO partners, field staff and training institutions to ensure efficient execution of project.

Execution and Monitoring: Plan field trips to project sites to ensure smooth logistical and financial operations with partner agencies

Evaluation: Provide technical assistance to partner agencies to develop progress report, mid-term review, and evaluation.

Business Development: Develop expansion ideas and proposals for other parts of Thailand and Asia in need of prevention/Care & Support activities; participate in EDC’s internal HIV working group; network externally with other organizations and build new partnerships.
3. Business Development

Work with BD team to identify, appraise and answer RFPs and EOIs

Ensure all administrative, narrative and budget requirements and documents for the proposals have been fulfilled before final submission

Research, write proposals and participate in meetings with funders

Professional networking
Qualifications and Requirements:
-
Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Education, Social Sciences, Economics, International Development or any other related development fields. Master’s degree is preferred.

At least three to five years of management experience, preferably with NGOs, an international development organization or MNCs
-
Thai language skills are a prerequisite. If you are not native/fluent in Thai your application will not be considered

Demonstrated understanding of International Development, technology and entrepreneurship for micro-enterprises, and public health issues (especially HIV/AIDS) that are specific to Asia
-
Experience in managing web portal, delivering trainings in business and Microsoft office preferred
-
Strong interpersonal communications, negotiation, presentations skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment
-
Organizational and time and project management skills
-
Excellent command of both written and spoken English
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-
Willingness to travel throughout region.
