Save the Children is the world’s independent children’s rights organisation. Save the Children UK is implementing the fourth phase of its Regional Cross-border Child Protection Programme covering six countries in the Mekong Sub-region. The project aims to develop models of child protection systems which work for the interests of children affected by migration.

1. Regional Cross-border Project Advocacy Officer

Job Description:

  • Take the lead in developing and implementing a regional child protection policy advocacy strategy focusing on migrant and trafficked children
  • Provide support to national advocacy work led by the national country project managers.
  • Contribute to the inter-agency work on anti-trafficking and protection of migrant children
  • Support capacity building on advocacy for partners and staff in the region
  • Develop advocacy materials
  • Represent Save the Children UK on anti-trafficking and protection of migrant children’s issues

Person Specification:

  • Thai nationality
  • MA degree, preferably in law, political science, development studies, or human rights
  • Good understanding of children’s rights, children development, human trafficking, and other international migration-related issues
  • Social development and human rights related academic background
  • In-depth understanding of child rights
  • Good command of English language.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Experience and skills in working with the media
  • Experience and skills in partnership building and project management
  • Willing to work in multi-cultural settings
  • Willing to travel in difficult conditions

2. Advocacy and Training Officer of  Thailand Cross-border Project

Job Description:

  • Analyse policy related to child protection in migration context
  • Develop advocacy strategies together with the Cross-border Project team
  • Support Thai local NGOs in advocacy work
  • Network and lobby with GOs, INGOs, and other related UN agencies for the protection of children affected by internal and cross-border migration
  • Develop advocacy and training materials
  • Organise training workshops in issues related to child protection and migration
  • Conduct monitoring and evaluation on the implementation of the project
  • Work with media in addressing the project’s work

Person Specification:

  • Thai nationality
  • Bachelors  or MA degree, preferably in law, political science, development studies, or human rights
  • Minimum of 3 years experiences in work relevant to social development
  • Good command of English language
  • Good understanding of migrant and trafficking issues, related laws and policies
  • Experience in dealing with the Government agencies
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong communication and networking skills in an intercultural setting
  • Computer proficiency.

3. Social Worker of Thailand Cross-border Project

Job Description:

  • Collaborate with the government and non-government agencies in case management in Thailand and other neighbouring countries
  • Support local NGO partners in providing psychosocial support for children
  • Provide training for local partners on case management
  • Work with other Cross-border Project country teams on the return and reintegration process
  • Case recording into the project’s database system
  • Perform other tasks related to the protection of children as assigned

Person Specification:

  • Thai nationality
  • Bachelors  or MA degree in Social Work
  • Good understanding of children’s rights, children development, human trafficking, and other international migration-related issues
  • At least three years experience in managing cases of trafficking victims, children in conflict with the law as well as in pre-return and post-return victim protection
  • Excellent interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Good command of English language
  • Willingness to travel frequently in other provinces in Thailand
  • Computer proficiency

4. Thailand Cross-border Project  Finance Assistant

Job Description:

  • Recording and checking financial transactions
  • Check the quarterly financial reports of partners
  • Process monthly tax submission and prepare the weekly bank balances and bank reconciliation

Person Specification:

  • Thai nationality
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related fields.
  • At least 3 – 5 years related experience in Accounting.
  • Good command of English language.
  • Computer literate.  Ability to operate Sun system will be an advantage.
  • Responsible and honest
  • Able work under pressure.
